Hundreds of jobseekers attend event at Bulwell Riverside

The 2019 Nottingham North Jobs Fair took place today, Friday 15 March at Bulwell Riverside. Hundreds of jobseekers came through the doors to meet around 40 employers from organisations including Nottingham Trent University, Primark, Nottingham City Homes and the NHS.

The Jobs Fair was opened by Nottingham North MP Alex Norris, who said: "I was elected on a promise to try improve employment and skills in our community which of course, involves working in Parliament, however I’m keen to offer practical support to my constituents through fairs such as these.

“I’m glad that through the Rebalancing the Outer Estates Foundation we were able to bring the Nottingham North Jobs Fair to the constituency again this year. Nottingham North has unacceptably high levels of unemployment and I hope that the fair will help people to get into employment and offer them other opportunities to gain new skills."

The Jobs Fair was made possible through a grant from the People's Postcode Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of the People's Postcode Lottery.
